I had someone contact me re an ancestor and it turned out that i was wrong. It was info that I had copied off other peoples trees, I was really grateful she contacted me so I could rectify it. She didnt actually tell me I was wrong, but she must have seen that our information didnt match, she was very tactful about it.
Having said that, i havent bothered letting others know about their mistakes that I have follwed, but my tree is public and they should be able to see any changes I make to people we have in common. In the case of that particular ancestor, i have bought and uploaded her second marriage and her death certificates. They are there for people to see and take if they want to.

Oh, and I did once message a local family that had my grandparents in their tree, but didnt have them married or their 8 kids. Didnt get so much as a thank you from them.
They are serious researchers too, they have done almost the entire history of the area my dad grew up in and have 10's of thousands of people in their tree. Would have thought they'd be a little bit grateful.

I have in my possession, given to me many many years ago and only just resurrected some cd's from LDS. The 1881 British Census, Vital Records index British Isles and the 1851 Devon/ Norfolk/Warwick census.
I have had them for years and threw them in the cupboard after one got eaten by my computer. Most of this is now on the Ancestry site but there is the Scottish census amongst it all so if you need anything from them I may be able to help.....or not....they are old.
The disc that got eaten is one I really wanted:_|
It really is easier to find the stuff on Ancestry but I did find a person I did not know of in one of the census's.

I just found out that my nanna's father had two wives! The first wife died when she was 25.
