Anyone else into seeking their ancestors?

I have become adicted to Ancestry.com and am lucky enough that one side of my family can be researched way back into the dim times.

The other side has hit a brick wall and I have to wait until someone else in the world may have more information.

How is everyone else going?

Anyone else into seeking their ancestors?

Good morning everyone. I have been too overwhelmed with family events to do any research and I have another full on week coming up but I am really missing doing my research as I find it so fascinating.

Hopefully I can do a bit next weekend, fingers crossed. ๐Ÿ™‚

Anyone else into seeking their ancestors?

Or... quickly,quickly missy monkey ๐Ÿ˜ž

sigh!

I have been playing around all day with Clodius IV or V and depending on who you read it could be one or the other...

I suspect there has been some monkey business to suit other ancestry lines ... phew! Very hard finding the truth.

Good on ya Gil.

Isn't it a bugga when real life interfers with Ancestors primary... so inconsiderate of them :^O

Hope you can get back to it soon. Nice to know they won't go away.

Darkie yes I am in WA. I havent got a Clodius IV or V but I have got King clodius crintus the long haired 5th Duke of the Franks, (not on my line though). Yep had to go play with real life people on the weekend instead of the dead ones I prefer to play with, Oh dear I shouldnt talk about my inlaws like that. Speaking of which we had to go to a Masquerade Ball. Hubby asked our youngest if he liked grandmas witch mask ? She wasnt wearing a mask, Thank goodness its his mother not mine or I would have decked him. Just watched this weeks who do you think you are? it was quite interesting. Happy searching all

Good morning all ๐Ÿ™‚

FLASHIE so glad to see you back again. We missed you lots.

Yes that's the one matega, Clodius V Duke of the Eastern Franks and some call him 'King' but I'm not sure about that, it could be American dreams :^O

There are so many Earls and Barons and Dukes and Kings that I think a lot of it depended upon what their position was in the politics of the land at that time, - or the size of their castles, never forgetting that they were war lords, not kings by right of blood.

Mind you, no king today is king by right of blood but by inheritance from previous rellies that long ago won their title and managed to hold on to it.

Hmm... there is a fine difference. Once, Kings had to have descended from the gods. Mind you, goodness knows when that last happened :^O

I have found for instance that a number of 'Kings of Scotland' were really Kings of 'Alba' which was a much smaller county in the land that later became Scotland.

I just wish I knew more about history - but I'm learning ๐Ÿ™‚

Well with Flashie back if you have any problems you can ask her and she will do her best to help... thanks Flashie ๐Ÿ™‚

Oh dear ๐Ÿ˜ž things get difficult when you find that a brother and sister apparently married and had children... that makes grandparents x 4 all being the same people.

I keep feeling I have made a mistake, but no matter how much I research I cannot find any other alternative.

Don't get me wrong - brothers and sisters did produce children to keep the family ties strong - as they did in Egypt, but trying to sort out the relationships after that is mind bogling ๐Ÿ™‚

Well, I had a message from my Auntie who I haven't seen or spoken to for 26 years and she gave me some more info on the Italian side of the family, it was great to hear from her. ๐Ÿ˜„

I haven't done much lately, been too busy in RL but will do some more when I can.

Happy searching.
