Anyone else into seeking their ancestors?

I have become adicted to Ancestry.com and am lucky enough that one side of my family can be researched way back into the dim times.

The other side has hit a brick wall and I have to wait until someone else in the world may have more information.

How is everyone else going?

Purple, it is good though that you can at least find something out as opposed to not nothing anything although it is sad that you were never able to make a connection with most of your family.

It is going to keep you out of mischief for some time to come, so much to research.

How exciting.

I have found that my GG Grandfather came from a little Island in Scotland called Ulva.

At it's peak it's population was 800.

That is where Lachlan Macquarie was born.

I wonder what they chances are that I will find a connection between our families.............it would make a nice change from ag labs.:^O

Has anyone here used Scotlands people before.

I am not particulary familiar with it.

I have found a marriage I want to check......I know it is the right one.

So I used a credit to see check...............yep...........names are right.

But it says there is no image............so I can not see it.......so how am I going to know if he was a widow when they married.

Flasie, I have used it a lot and there is usually an image. Do you think your computer is just not showing or, or there actually isnt one?

Did you find that census you were looking for? I just had a quick look and didnt get a result for Scotland, would he have shifted by then?

lol, I figured I should be getting some results for that name in Scotland, so I just tried again and got several pages of them. I had to take out the country of birth from my search.

I will go through them all and see if I can find the right one.

What might help with the census is there are two daughters with unusual names.......Sicily and Christy.
