Hi, is someone able to help with this because I'm having total brain drain trying to work it out. There's a job advertised which states 32 hours per week, $44.000 per year pro rata. Can someone give me an idea of what the hourly rate would work out too?

So would I get $21 or $26 per hour? Seems to quite a difference of opinion and a lot of difference between the two amounts.

Based on a 38 or 37.5 hour week full time week it would be $22.26/56 an hour.

Pro Rata: Part Time, Contract or Casual employment advertisements may indicate a pro rata salary. This is the salary based on the full time, i.e. 38 hours per week wage, the actual wage can be determined by dividing the annual salary by 52 to get the weekly salary and then by 38 to get an hourly rate and multiply by the number of hours to be worked per week. (Be aware that not all companies work on a 38hr week e.g. 40hrs, 37.5hrs)
For Example: To calculate the salary of a Part Time position of 20 hours per week paying $40,000 Pro Rata.
Gross Weekly Salary: $ 40,000 / 52 weeks = $ 769.23
Hourly Rate: $ 769.23 / 38 hours = $ 20.24
Weekly Part Time Gross Wage: $ 20.24 x 20 hours = $ 404.86
Annual Part Time Gross Salary: $ 21,052.63 per annum

You're not going to get $26 per hour.
Another way of looking at it is that you are doing around 80 - 85% of the full time hours.
Pro rata in my understanding means a percentage of the quoted annual rate.
I agree that it would be $21.15 based on a 40 hour week and $22 something on a 38 hour week.

Agree.
$44000 is the annual gross pay for a full time worker. Their hourly pay rate isn't $26 per hour either.
Even though the person working 32 hours will get less pay a week than a full time worker, both of them get the same hourly pay rate.
The number of hours they are paid a week is the differing factor.
NOTE: $44000 divide by 52. then divide by 32 gives you your hourly rate - as in posts above is incorrect. That doesn't take into account the pro-rata.
Example: 2 employees employed in the same job at the same pay level.
Person A: works 40 hrs a week, receives $40 000 p.a - hourly rate $19.23
Person B: works 20 hrs a week, receives pro-rata $40 000 salary = $20 000 p.a.- hourly rate $19.23
