Anyone here been influenced by political discussions...

...  on this board on which party to vote for?

I don't dwell much on political topics on here and my mind was made up ages ago, but, from what i've read, i can't help get the feeling some posters think they can control other posters on who to vote for.Robot tongue

AL: ".......I think to say someone here is lying is a bit rude mysel......" and I agree AL,  but I added a qualification to my comment:  "and those who say they have, in my opinion are lying."

An opinion honestly held (and expressed) is not rude as opposed to declaring someone is lying.

"The Defamation Act provides a defence of "honest opinion" (section 31) that is akin to fair comment. It can only be defeated if a plaintiff can establish that the opinion was not honestly held."

I repeat,  that in my opinion anyone here who  says that the Myopic mutterings within the CS political threads has caused them to change their voting intentions, are full of codswallop, or have been watching too many episodes of BB.

Re: Anyone here been influenced by political discussions...

I'm the opposite. Too much Labor junk mail in my letterbox (which clearly says no junk mail) and very little from the other parties. Then Labor has made over 1 million unsolicited phonecalls, including people that are on the do-not-call register... probably trying to scare people into voting for them. So no, definitely not Labor. Will give LNP a chance, Labor have had 6 years

Re: Anyone here been influenced by political discussions...

Do you live in a safe Labor seat genesis?

I am in a safe Liberal seat... get buckets of letters, and pamphlets from the Liberals. Only 1 or 2 from Labor. The Labor candidate says he doesn't have the budget the Liberal candidate has for promotion/flyers/signs etc.

Those pamphlets usually are delivered by Aust  Post, and are therefore not junk mail.  They are required by law to put them in letterboxes.
