... on this board on which party to vote for?
I don't dwell much on political topics on here and my mind was made up ages ago, but, from what i've read, i can't help get the feeling some posters think they can control other posters on who to vote for.

Yes. The Liberal party zealots have ensured I wont be voting Liberal.
I gave you kudos for this post, even though it made me wince.
I feel the same.
I was prepared, for the first time in my life, to vote for the LNP.
However, seeing the rabid, drooling LNP posts on CS from people who can't spell and seem unable to construct a sensible argument OVER AND OVER AGAIN, for MONTHS changed my mind. I DO NOT want to be associated in any way with people like them, or Rupert Murdoch or Gina Rineheart.

Then Labor has made over 1 million unsolicited phonecalls, including people that are on the do-not-call register... probably trying to scare people into voting for them. So no, definitely not Labor. Will give LNP a chance, Labor have had 6 years
From what I have learned Political advertising is not "junk mail".
I used to help my kids deliver the "junk mail" (here's a tip - **bleep**py, sucky awful job) and apparently political advertising or "community" advertising - like how to survive a bushfire etc, is not "junk mail" we were told to put that stuff in EVERY letterbox. Junk mail is only, apparently, stuff from shops and brochures selling stuff.

I think JG that it is more a self (and group) assurance display, as many of CS past posts would seem to indicate.
Perhaps youre right Monman,
but some seem almost fanatical as if theyre trying to influence the community to vote for their team.
i must admit though..at times i do get a chuckle from some of the debates

I am in a safe Liberal seat... get buckets of letters, and pamphlets from the Liberals. Only 1 or 2 from Labor. The Labor candidate says he doesn't have the budget the Liberal candidate has for promotion/flyers/signs etc.
I don't understand the logic in this.
If it's a "safe Liberal seat" (and I'm not doubting that it is, ok?) then why would they need to use their money canvassing a "sure thing"?
Wouldn't the money be better spent trying to covert those who weren't already a "sure thing"?
Same thing the other way, wouldn't it make more sense for Labor to bombard your area with their material in the hopes of swaying people's votes rather than just one or two half hearted efforts?

Yes, but do you chuckle backwards like Tony Abbott? He laughs like a donkey
