"Like swallows' nests under eaves". Thomas Hardy describing Ann's curls under her bonnet. Yes, re-reading Thomas Hardy's The Trumpet-Major. I am endeavouring to read some of the Classics once more.

I ahve two books going at the moment. "And The Mountains Echoed" by Khaled Hosseini which I am making last as long as possible because I love his writing style. The second book is "Life After Life" by Kate Atkinsons.

I have "Life After Life" waiting in the wings. I love Kate Atkinsons style. I've read of hers so far "When Will There Be Good News", and "Started Early, Took My Dog".
I didn't realise Khaled Hosseini had a new book out, I've read "The Kite Runner" and "A Thousand Splendid Suns" of his. Loved both of them.

I like her style, too, but there is something about this book that is irritating me. I'm sure why - yet. I'm nearly half way through....
My best friend and I often give each other books as presents, which we both end up reading. For xmas, she gave me the Kate Atkinson one and "The Crane Wife" by Patrick Ness.
