Anyone want to start a new micronation?

What we'll need.

1. Land, maybe 1000 acres

2. A self proclaimed King or Queen

3. Lots and lots money for lawyers.

4. Our own currency.

5. A constitution.

Yes. It has already been done in Australia.

I would say that it is only because they are so far away from everyone and kind of in the middle of SFA,

plus they don't seem to bother anyone that they are still able to do what they do.

Residents of Hutt River are exempt from Australian taxation. They are a legal entity.

Re: Anyone want to start a new micronation?

He's gotten away with it I think because he's done it all legally and the Australian government is embarassed about it. I don't think they can do anything about it. If you live in Hutt River I don't think you are entitled to centrelink or other benefits. Did you see the ATO letters he received, it says 'income tax zero' because he is not a resident of the Commonwealth of Australia. The Australian government has admitted in writing he is NOT a resident of Australia.

Re: Anyone want to start a new micronation?

Maybe a loop hole maybe not don't know, but you hear of territories splitting and forming new countries. I think it can be done under International law but you probably need to be a lawyer to know exactly how to do it, I don't think countries are going to tell people how to do it.

What if there are a few too many self-proclaimed Kings and Queens? That could be a bit problematic.
