Quiz: who said this?
“We will be a consultative, collegial government. No surprises, no excuses.” (July, 2013)

Too ridiculous.
Aussies know either party they vote in is corrupt then fight about whose party is more corrupt than the other's.
Yet haven't got the guts or the gumption or the gorm to look at any alternative. Just give each party an even turn or turn about, hoping it'll b better next time around.
Have their sausage sandwich after the voting's done then to back to railing at the government for the next four years.
What a joke.

@silverfaun wrote:Thomson, Williamson, Orkopoulis and Gillard are just a few corrupt who come to mind, I'm sure their are legion like the Keating piggery, the Richardson print factory really too many to list.
Modern Labor are criminally defunct in the decency and ethical department and it's on show every day.
The ICAC is currently investigating who??? LABOR and the filth they wallowed in in NSW, the lies and corruption puts anything else in the shade.
So Labor is proven to be open to corruption and nefarious deals, they do it every day, just look at the CFMEU and many other criminal organisations lockstep with Labor.
Also Poddsters answer was correct in that the lower educated non ambitious and non particpants in the work force are more likely to be Labor supporters, Labor is their meal ticket, Labor is the handout mentality that sees generations of families who have never worked continue to vote Labor.
actually studies on the topic of who is more likely to be 'a conservative' point to the less intelligent among us. fear of foreigners, fear of change etc etc. its a bit general, but its demonstrated here everyday.. non acceptance of science, clinging to old-world superstitions religions etc etc. belief in UFO's whilst rejecting plausible science. that kind of thing. not that that all conservatives fit this description of course, but they certainly bolster the ranks.

Perhaps DY you would be interested in this: " List of Australian politicians convicted of crimes" Bad Pollies
This covers Federal and State politicians and indicates that ALP badies are somewhat ahead of the Libs + Nats badies.
Perhaps the Libs were actually as bad as the ALP parliamentarians, but avoided being nicked because they were smarter than the ALP bunch, remembering that there are a lot of ex-trade union hacks in the various Australian parliaments.

I note that your list of prosecuted politicians DOES have a majority of labor politicians by a small lead.
However I also note that the majority of those Labor offences were for drink driving rather than for corruption. So actually (if you want to be pedantic), the Liberal baddies are somewhat ahead of the Labor baddies.

excuses, excuses - the list is not linked to corruption though is it, the thread is about corruption and the conservatives are way out in front. Things like drink driving, while illegal, is not corruption. Is there no end to the deflection of the conservatives. The constant put down of Trade Union leaders is pathetic and based on nothing but personal bias and ignorance. Are we to believe that only "business" people are intelligent, the working class are stupid, yes so stupid that we have created this country and its wealth.
