DOES your nickname end in 'azza' or 'o'? Was there some Jim Beam under the tree this morning? Does your ideal weekend involve slouching on a couch with an esky of beer in front of the footy?
Do you regularly use the word, 'top' to describe something as good? Well, hate to break it to you, but you're a bona fide Australian Bogan. At least according to this new app, the Bogan Test, designed by Simon Hubbard.
Instructions for use: Download app for 99 cents. Use liberally on friends and family. Post the humiliating results to social media immediately.
The test is a series of 100 questions which cover a whole range of topics. For example, bogan names: Is there a hyphen in your first name? And, are your kids named after precious stones? Lifestyle: Does your house have wheels? And is there a bathtub in your backyard? Or even fashion choices: do you wear tracksuits in public without exercising? And the list goes on…
The bad news, according to Mr Hubbard, is that once you've received your score there is no way of going back. In other words, you can't un-bogan yourself.
"Sorry, but the [inner Bogan] will always come out every now and then. Like a drug addiction, you're never completely cured – you just have to manage and control it! Or, you can just accept and embrace your Bogan traits," he said.
He also said that while most Australians would like to think we're getting less Bogan, our true bogan selves will never be too far away.
But don’t just take his word for it. Give yourself a warm-up run on the test! Answer the first twenty and post your score below. And just for the record, I got 16/100.
1. Are you named after a car, motorbike or fashion label? eg. Mercedes, Harley, Chanel
2. Is there a bathtub, washing machine or couch in your backyard?
3. Have you ever mowed the lawn and found a car?
4. Do you think bin night is every night? (i.e. do you leave the bins out all week?)
5. Have you appeared as a neighbour from hell on A Current Affair?
6. Do you go outside to use the toilet?
7. Do you stand in your front garden and drink beer?
8. Have you spent more money doing up your car than what you paid for it?
9. Do you wear your bathrobe outside?
10. Are thongs your primary footwear?
11. Do you have a Southern Cross tattoo?
12. Have you ever brewed your own beer?
13.Do you smoke like a chimney?
14.Have you ever been arrested without a shirt on?
15.Do you parent in public (loudly)?
16.Were any of your children the result of a conjugal visit?
17.Are you a Collingwood supporter?
18.Have you ever been in a Lowes commercial?
19.Have you ever worn the Australian flag as a cape?
20.Do you like walking through train carriages?
If you answered 'yes' to any one of these questions, then you're a Bogan too, sorry.
I guess I'm a Bogan. ![]()
Iv'e been known to wear my dressing gown outside and have in the past brewed my own beer (for ex-hubby). I've also walked through train carriages.

don't bogans and your so called ferals have any problems then ?
no actually, we are quite happy. Stop being so bloody condescending and stuck up
sorry Chuk, I didn't realise that I wasn't allowed to talk about my son
Surprisingly, the rest of the world doesn't revolve around you and your son, whatever his needs may be.
This discussion proceeded mainly in the direction of the hundreds, perhaps thousands who choose a lifestyle remeniscent of feral animals, many of those being hooked on the generational welfare mentality, as per the geographical examples highlighted by Chukky earlier. In answer to your question, if referred to as feral to their faces, the response is usually quite "feral" in behaviour. Most around these parts have no intellectual or other disability, just a lack of self motivation to live a more "up to your standard" lifestyle.
Carl, OK ,So ...help me out here.I can't mention my son just like anyone else might mention their children?...is it because he is disabled, mentally ill ? Why ?

Well, really...
Lets get back to the Bogan test.... nothing to do with disabilities nor mental illness. No-one was making any fun of people with disablities or mental illness.

Hold on a minute, are you calling your son a bogan? A feral? Because I've read the whole thread, and nobody else has.
Just reread the opening post. It's a funny online test thing about bogans.

Perhaps Iza, you could watch a few episodes of Housos, and tell us what "help" those people need

You are all telling me I can post about what I wish to ..
How many mods are posting on this thread ?
I detest calling human beings ferals ...I hope that is OK with the controllers here .
my son acts mad ...he is human ...not a feral animal

If anyone's family member is not a bogan (or feral) why mention them in this thread?
It is also insulting to infer people don't know the difference between an angry feral teen (s) kicking off in public and someone with a disability or a mental health issue.

I think others would. I was posting about something I know about from my experience.I thought that might be OK

I have now learnt, not to call badly behaved (drinking alcohol, feet (shoes) on seats, litter dropping (all fineable offences on the train), vocabulary mostly swear words, people on public transport bogans. I shall refer to them as ferals now.

It would appear you're the only one bringing him into this discussion about ferals and bogans. Obviously you must consider him to be one, then associate all other ferals and bogans with disabilities.
The discussion never was about your son, and it's very unfortunate that you somehow took it personally and linked this wide ranging discussion, and narrowed everybody's comments down into your personal situation.
