My daughter is coming back to Australia for Xmas and they are staying for the summer.  So i am stocking up on some toys.  My 3y.o. granddaughter loves her tea set and so I thought I get her little plastic tea set to play with while she is here, expecting to get one for few dollars.  Instead everything is $50 and more?

It is a Barbie one and those ones are expensive, anything to do with Barbie is expensive.

Yes, it's because its a licensed brand.  Try K Mart or Target or better still, what about a Red Dot store.  I'm sure they would have something for a fraction of that cost.

Had you thought of trying your local op shop. When my grandies were little I bought a set of demi tasse coffee cups and saucers and (separately) two little cream jugs, which together made a beautiful little toy tea set. They spent hours playing 'cafes' with them.

Kmart. I looked for my nephew a few weeks ago and resisted the urge because he has plenty already.

Absolutely, I believe in recycling, I did ask in our local op-shops and they told me they rarely get them because there is lot of demand and they are usually given to needy families.  I was really looking for second hand ones on eBay, and also just to know what is around and how much it sells for new.  I mean all what these things are is a piece of cheap plastic.  She is not getting Barbie one, actually Hello Kitty is more her style.  Cat Frustrated  When I was 3 I was not given choices.  LOL

Anyway, i do have few weeks before they are arriving , so will continue looking at op-shops and some $2 shops.  But knowing myself, then I just say "Oh bleep" it and buy the one I really like Cat Wink
