This poll doesn't really make much sense because although I voted no, they are there to protect the workers so perhaps I should have voted yes.
Voting yes though would make it look like there was something wrong with unions. I'm sure that there have been some union officials that I wouldn't want to deal with but so there are in all walks of life.

No unionist prepared to sing the praises of unionism???
Unions are marvellous wonderful creations. They fight for workers' rights in terms of wages and conditions.
Isn't anyone going to attempt to enlighten us as to the workings of a union and that should include the reason for the union to get involved.
Are the motive altruistic or for financial gain and power to control?
Unions are generally run by their members. They have regular elections in which the management may be replaced.
I believe that most union officials work for altruistic reasons.
LOL, when I first started working for a union, I was there 7 days a week, about 12 hours a day ... paid for 35 hours.
