I didn't mean to imply that you were a rapist, a murderer or a pillager.
Don't worry, I'm not that exciting... I'm simply a Christian 🙂

Yes and yes.
But Jesus didn't sin, and he suffered and died so i could be forgiven and alls i have to do is ask, it's that simple. just ask God for forgivness in Jesus's name...
now, Bob, can you answer my question?
Can you not see how twisted your logic is??? Supposely a person is guilty of murder and the judge is so loving and kind he said, don't worry, I'll forgive you, I'll torture and kill my son instead?? This is SICK. If you can't see it, I can't help you.
2ndly, the bible God has committed genocide worst than you can imagine. Even if he killed bad people, murder is murder. What's God's punishment?

What sins have you committed? What happens if you sin?
Sin is what it is, and I think you're clever enough to understand what I mean. And I believe I am made righteous through Christ, that if I am honestly sorry for what I have done, I am forgiven.
Apparently I'm not clever enough to understand what sin is so please do explain it to me. Can you be forgiven for rape and murder if you're honestly sorry? How exactly does Christ make you righteous?
Being forgiven and being let off the hook are two completely different things 🙂
God forgives, but he also brings justice to those who deserve it. Those who commit sin - no matter how big or small - must suffer the consequences of their sin, even if they are forgiven beforehand.
I do believe you can be forgiven for sins such as rape and murder, just as easily as for the sin of not returning a library book that wasn't yours to keep! haha But seriously, just because they are forgiven does not mean they will not have consequences.
But the consequence if you repent is heaven.
I still don't know what constitues a sin? Is it written anywhere? If God commands you to rape and murder, is that still a sin?

Theres more than 7 billion people living today who have a chance at a pleasent afterlife because of God's sacrifice of his own son. Id say God knew what he was doing. God is the creator, made all living things, and knows far better than we do the best thing for all concerned. God gave us free will, and the choice of if or not we accept this salvation offered through Jesus. If Jesus is the only way to heaven, then for me it's an easy choice, a no brainer. What ever else God may or may not be according to you is irrelivant, It is what it is. You have the free will to question your creator, to turn your back on your only chance for salvation. Wheres your back up plan?, do you have one?

Back up plan???? Why? What's going to happen?
Is it possible for God to send us to heaven or forgive us without torturing and killing his own son. Using my analogy of a court room judge ealier, don't you think that idea is pretty twisted???
If you say God gave us free will. Who is responsible for baby who die at birth or earthquakes, which has nothing to do with free will.
Speaking of free will. Did God have a choice in where he put the tree of knowledge when there was just Adam and Eve?

God couldn't possibly do that, bob. God is love and rape and murder do not come from love, they come from other emotions such as lust, hate, etc.
I would suggest that sin is knowingly going against God's golden rule: to love one another, as Christ loved us.
Before I explain to you why, can you state for the record that your bible God has never condoned rape or murder?
Does the Golden rule come from God? Is there an exception to God's rule that it's OK to treat some particular group of people differently?
Does Christ love people who don't accept his existence? Are they forgiven too?

You expect me to have the answers, I don't understand lots of things, but i listen to my gut and it tells me to accept Jesus into my heart, to try and make God proud of his creation in me. I don't have much in the way of this life, i missed out on alot, suffered in jail, seems like i get the blame for things past my control. i've had it hard, what really have i to lose by putting all my marbles, all my hopes into something better after this dreaded life, whatever that might be. I just don't want to end when i die, can you blame me? I want to continue to exist in some way, I can't imagine anyone actually wanting to pass away into nothingness.
I can't wrap my mind around never again being able to wrap my mind around anything at all. Am I making any sense? I'm trying to explan this as best I can.
I don't put a great deal of stock in the bible, or how it's interpited, I do belive in God, I do accept Jesus as my savior. I don't understand the reason and nature of it all, but guess what, I don't need to. Far as i understand, it's not a requirement

In the Book of Proverbs 6:16-19, among the verses traditionally associated with King Solomon, it states that the Lord specifically regards "six things the Lord hateth, and seven that are an abomination unto Him", namely:[4]
A proud look
A lying tongue
Hands that shed innocent blood
A heart that devises wicked plots
Feet that are swift to run into mischief
A deceitful witness that uttereth lies
Him that soweth discord among brethren
Another list, given this time by the Epistle to the Galatians (Galatians 5:19-21), includes more of the traditional seven sins, although the list is substantially longer: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, "and such like".[5] Since the apostle Paul goes on to say that the persons who practice these sins "shall not inherit the Kingdom of God", they are usually listed as (possible) mortal sins rather than capital vices.

If fornication is a sin, then how the hell are people supposed to go forth and multiply? Immaculate conception is not available for everyone.
Makes me glad that I am an atheist, although, I do like the sound of "Feet that are swift to run into mischief ".

We send soldiers into battle, and for murder brand them heroes.
We encourage free sex, then condemn the rapist.
God is love, bob. You cannot seperate God from love, they are not two seperate dishes served together. Love in the absence of God is lust and hate - lust in the absence of conscience is rape, and hate in the absence of conscience is murder.
So since God is love, he must love everyone as it is against his nature to not love. But those who don't accept his existance are only forgiven if they ask for forgiveness and truly repent.
