An Italian art installation that resembles the aftermath of a large party has been restored after being mistakenly removed by cleaning staff.
The installation, which includes empty wine bottles, streamers, a fallen banner and a disco ball lying on the floor, was removed from the Museion Bozen-Bolzano on Saturday.
"We greatly regret what happened to the artists' work: it was the result of a misunderstanding with the staff of the cleaning company," the museum said in a statement on it website.......
.......The museum said this is not the first time this kind of thing has happened in contemporary art, but it has sparked great debate internationally.
"It all goes to show how contemporary art is capable of arousing great interest, or even annoying people," it said......

Had a few "art instalments" of my own, way back. I could've "cleaned up" by calling it art.
Actually, I wonder if the museum cleaning crew thought it was the aftermath of yet another boozy curator party.

Yes, if it looks like trash,.... it is!
Art is beautiful creations, not garbage rearranged.

Some years ago some art worth five figures was stolen from a train station in San Francicso. After a thorough investigation it was determined that a cleaning crew had thought it was some trash and had thrown it away.....your tax dollars at work.
