The rapidly increasing number of overweight Australians has seen the country overtake Canada in the obesity rankings, with 28.3 percent of adults tipping the scales.
Australia is behind the United States, Mexico and New Zealand in the OECD's annual ‘Health at a Glance’ report.
Despite this, Australia ranks 18th when it comes to children being overweight, below the OECD average.
The OECD shows a negligible gender gap for obesity in Australia, while women in countries like Mexico, Chile, South Africa and Turkey are much more likely to be overweight.
India, Indonesia and China have the lowest rate of obesity in the OECD.
Australia is number one for fruit and vegetable consumption, while Finland, which has substantially fewer obese people, is at the bottom of the rankings.
Australia also has one of the lowest rates of smoking, with only 15 percent of people having a cigarette daily.
Life expectancy at birth in Australia is 82 years old, the seventh best in the OECD and two years higher than average.
Hmmm. I wish I'd read this before I had a slice of Christmas cake for my morning tea.

if i had a woman i'd still take in the scenery, no harm in lookin'
i'd choose that over a walk or bike machine for excersise any day
get out and about.. out of the house.. off the computer.. life be in it sort of thing

there is a saying, a satire derived from:
"Die Glocke von Friedrich von Schiller (1759-1805):
...
Drum prüfe, wer sich ewig bindet,
Ob sich das Herz zum Herzen findet!
Der Wahn ist kurz, die Reu ist lang.
so check, who bonds forever
if the heart finds the (other) heart!
the delusion is short, the ruefulness is long.
the satire:
Drum pruefe wer sich ewig bindet,
ob sich nicht noch was besseres findet.
So check who bonds forever
if there isn't anything better around/to find.
I didn't know you were into the old poets ideas

did you ever consider that your partner could feel hurt if you look at other women lustfully?
i certainly would.
on 24-11-2013 01:38 AM
well i havent got a partner to worry about that
i could settle down and be devoted though, but i'd want a woman to be secure enough that theres nothing wrong with either of us in appreciating beauty
there would be nothing in it, just a passing thought

i don't mind hubby looking at other women.
but riding through the park on a bicycle to gawk on other women would certainly upset me and make me think that he is a bleep and does not deserve my love, devotion and truthfulness.
men 30 years younger than hubby try to shat me up on a regular basis. i would never consider to leave him for one of them or have a quicky in the loo or anything like that.
i expect the same from him.
he can look as one looks at a thing but not gawk.

lol, i don't gawk at woman at the best of times
i was just saying
it would be just part of enjoying the scenery riding a bike

what bleeps me off is that nowadays mc donalds don't serve burgers in the morning. they offered me PANCAKES!!!! aarrrgghhhh!
in the old days i could eat a burger for brekky when i felt like it.
also the small chips is best value. look at the calories of the different sizes of chips and then compare with the price.
it's better value to buy 2 or 3 small chips than ordering a big one.
