Great work being done up on the Murray River.

Another paddle steamer that is being worked on is in East Gippsand-

but not well known to the public is the Curlip.

This image was taken, later in the life of Paddle Steamer Curlip, around July / August 1897. She is sporting a new taller funnel, with guy wires attached, her hull colour was painted a darker colour Green, with Copper paint underwater. Frank Richardson is standing on the deck.

I did wonder for a split second,  but then I remembered - you're not from around here.

I never knew about the Gippsland one, and I'll be going to Mannum in December on my

Murray River cruise (sadly, not on a paddle steamer)

There is one that's available there at Murray Bridge, but it costs the earth and it's

very large.  It even has a lift on it for the passengers.
