I am late been busy making lunch, all the kids and both girls are coming, we do it every year, meat, fruit, cheese and lollies all on one giant plate, its a hoot, well it is for me. Then the kids get to empty their money boxes and spent however much is in there, usually around $50
It is going to be so hot, stay cool folks.

Sounds like fun, Linda.
Kids love emptying and counting money from money boxes.
I still do one for big grandie, for his birthday, and he's 21 now.
Dunno about the lollies on the same plate as the meat though.
Groceries done and dusted.
Did some harvesting this morning in the vegie garden, and I have waaaay too many
cucumbers.
So it's pickling day today now.
^^^^
I hope to avoid that situation, folks.

Arvo all,
Been to see my Dr, in the past week I have had a number of tests done.
Most results were good, except for liver function, which was terrible.
Dr says I meet the criteria for a new program which will keep the costs to a minimum.
Will see him again in about a fortnight to finalise all the paperwork.
In the meantime the Dr will be organising an appointment for me at a University in Sydney,
as an introduction / discussion about the program, medication, side effects (if any) etc.
I'm not too concerned about it.
I was far more concerned about the test results with my heart.
Everything there was fine, which made my day.
Would prefer the liver probs, than a crook heart.

Glad the heart problems are sorted, Trav.
You were a worry for a while, there.
Liver function is something that degrades as we age, I think. Same with kidney function.
Mine are both shot.
I think it was taking ibuprofen a fair bit when I was younger. Nurofen etc takes it's toll.
Good luck with this new programme at the Uni.
How long will it go for?
Been mucking around with the cucumbers. Salted them, sterilised the jars.
Working myself up to the next step. I haven't done this for years....................

Arvo Stawks,
I was diagnosed with a crook liver roughly 30 years ago, I was part of a first group of people to go on an
experimental drug program. I was initially told that if I let it go, I could be in serious trouble in 10 to 15 years.
I opted to go on the program, was never cured, but it stabilised it.
My Dr was saying today that the new drug has shown better results, with around 80% success rate,
and don't have to take the drug long term.
The original program only had about 20 or 25% success rate.
I was lucky that I was one of the people that had some success with initial program.
My Dr has spoken to the people at Macquarie Uni, and they will take me on, because I was part of the original program,
and after 30 years I am still kicking.
It rarely gives me any problems, usually the signs are feeling tired.
My Dr seems to think that it was not the heart meds I was on that were making me tired, because the liver function
test is about 9 times above what it should be and was the cause of the tiredness.
Years back it was even higher, and only 2 years back it was about double the normal reading.
Rang wifey to let her know and she was also pleased that the heart is ok,
and like me, is not too concerned about the liver, as we have always known about it.

Done. Now they have to sit for at least 2 days.
Hope they're ok.
A lot of effort if they're not.

Arvo Stawks,
I was diagnosed with a crook liver roughly 30 years ago. I was part of the first group that went on a

My Dr said that the new drug has a success rate of around 80% where as the initial one I was on
had a 20 to 25% success rate.
I was told at the start of the first program that if I let it go or had no success, I could be in serious trouble in 10 to 15 years.
I was lucky that I had some success.
My Dr has spoken to Macquarie Uni and they will take me into the program, because I was part of the original program
and after 30 years I am still kicking. The new drug is not one I would need to take forever.
Dr also said that that he thinks that it was not the heart meds I was on that was making me tired, but the liver.
(in the past, the tiredness was a symptom with the liver)
Test results have me about 9 times higher than normal. Years back it was a lot worse,
yet 2 years back I was a little less than than double.
Phoned Wifey to let her know, and like me, was pleased it was liver & not heart.
We have lived with the liver problem for a lot of years and are not overly concerned at this stage.
