Question :
Anyone have any suggestions for packaging dinnerware - so that it comes out the other side of Aust Post in one piece.
Thinking of selling off a dinner set for replacements.
TIA.

Individual pieces or a whole set at once?
(I can't even imagine packaging dinnerware to withstand AP treatment)
And...
Ooooh, what is it?

bubble-wrap & cardboard over each piece - then box - then ๐ค

LOL Stawks - your fav ' Willow ' - it's been in the shed for 36 years.
Thinking of selling individual - replacement parts - one small step at a time.
Just not sure of the very large platters - or the veg dish with cover.
Did come up with these peeps though - could work - Caterbox - SA.
Think I'll pack a plate - get DD to post it to me from Sydney - see how it travels. LOL

Funnily enough, I was checking out Calamityware today.
At a glance it looks like Willow, but, nah.
Look closely at the design and read the description.

Thinking about getting just the mug. ๐

We had landlord insurance up until last tenants leaving. New insurance being organised.
I prefer the police to do the throwing outโฆ and I do want to be careful. It highlights the undeniable biological difference between men and women; weโre at a disadvantage in any confrontation that might turn physical. I suppose I compensate with an air of โkind but firmโ authority (or so I hope!). I just act as though I fully expect the squatters to depart henceforth.
Itโs amazing how delusional drug addicts. They really donโt seem to know that a whiff and a glance gives it awayโฆ but I hope that the ones who broke in and squatted will get help to walk the tough walk of beating their addiction and making the rest of their life better.
Oh, domino - if you use bubble wrap for protecting china, I believe itโs good to avoid packing too tightly as the bubble wrap will expand and explode. Use tissue paper or newspaper for each piece individuallyโฆ use scrunched-up tissue paper or newspaper above and below and then secure in something like a box or use cardboard taped together. After each piece is protected in this way, prepare a large cardboard box with layers of bubble wrap or scrunched-up tissue paper / newspaper on the bottom and top (and sides). Scrunching shouldnโt be too firm because youโll want to have it absorb shock/movement.

Verrry noice indeedy.
I don't have much Burleigh Ware, maybe 2 or 3 pieces, and they have gold edging.
Unusual shape - all my Willow platters are oval.
Don't think that Caterbox will work, sorry. It appears to be what the name implies - just boxes so catering peeps can safely transport their china/glasses to venues in a van.
Can't see it withstanding Auspost treatment.

LOL - Countess - I intend to send individual items - as replacement pieces - as in - someone has the setting - chips or breaks one - needs another to add.
No bunching all together.
