Afternoon all,
Beautiful here today - clear blue skies - not much warmth.
Question :
Anyone else watching ' Tipping Point ' ??
on โ27-06-2024 05:00 PM
Yes, watched the Pommy version today.
Much better than the Aussie one, in my opinion.
Aussie one's a repeat tonight - again.
on โ27-06-2024 05:57 PM
So did I.
Ben is so much better.
If Todd - says ' good possy ' - one more time - I'll give him a very special ' pressy '. ๐
It's only been a couple of months - why the repeats??

The UK Tipping Point is oddly addictive. It is a guilty pleasure for me on catchup.
The Australian version lacks the delight of the UK version. What is it about Australian contestants on these shows? Are they told to gape with fake-shocked mouths like those turning clown heads in fairs?
on โ27-06-2024 06:26 PM
Somewhat agree and disagree.
The UK contestants - on the whole - pretty boring - except when they do ' The Stars ' - for charity.
The Aussies show far more personality - especially with each other.
Keep tuned for Tuesday next - 7.30 - think it is Swimming Stars - hopefully for charity.
One more ' sports question ' - LOLOL

The Aussie show has added an audience, and "encourages" the contestants to show their emotions and comment on every drop.
Depending on the contestants, that can be entertaining or very annoying.
The worst thing is that the Aussie version has more ads, less questions in most rounds, and that "jackpot temptation" at the end (which can sometimes be exciting, but usually pushed way too much by Todd).
Why are these shows always "upgraded" for Australian TV? Do they think we need all the bells and whistles to keep watching a show? Most of us started watching the Aussie show because we enjoyed the Pommy version, so don't need that kind of encouragement.

Just watched the US ' debate ' - good grief - can you imagine either on ' Tipping Point '. ๐คฃ
