Would you believe they are trying to stop children at pre school blowing out candles because they might blow saliva onto the cake ?
I think it would be a lot worse in an aged care facility when someone turns 100, the mind boggles.

Only because I like to share everything which is what my mother always taught me :-x
Would you share drinks at nightclubs? 😮

MMMMMMMMM have done but in hindsight a very silly move, when one is a bit tipsy one can do silly things.

When I was at school "away back when" we did all sorts of things that are considered gross and unhygienic today and we rarely got sick. I believe in hygiene but this is going a bit to far.
Who's to say they don't put ONE candle in the cupcake and they all blow it out together, yuk that would be worse.
That was because kids were not 'over protected' and their imune systems learned to deal with what they came in contact with.
Nowadays there is so much fuss about disease and dirt that children are being reared in germ free environments to a point that they do not have the imunity we did way back..
It's a worry 😞

You could just as easily blame vaccinations for weakening the immune system. Makes equal sense.

Oh thank goodness Darkie (may I call you that ?) someone who has in my opinion shown a bit of common sense. Even doctors say if kids don't play and get dirt on their hands they won't build up their immune systems.

uhmmmm......i dont want to speak for others here but i think you'll find that supporting the "no candle blowing at childcare" proposal, does not automatically mean that children should be brought up in sterile environment ?:| I don't see how that is lacking common sense ?:|

It's a throwaway line.......
Unless children are germ phobes... and some are, they get dirty, they get sticky, they put everything in their mouths, they lick things....windows, trolley handles, other people.... kiss dogs, cats, play with sand, dirty toys and other kids toys. They are not living in a sterile environment.
