Would you believe they are trying to stop children at pre school blowing out candles because they might blow saliva onto the cake ?
I think it would be a lot worse in an aged care facility when someone turns 100, the mind boggles.

Never mind the kids ............. I think the whole idea of someone BLOWING on other's food is disgusting. Who knows what germs are in your mouth, teeth, lungs, nasal passages etc that you are blowing on others food. At work they threw me a birthday party - I had the flu at the time - I refused to blow on the cake and everyone else appreciated it.
Why do you think places that have self-serve salad bars etc have them screened off from breathers - never mind blowers. I, for one, don't want ANYONE heaving their germs over my food... and I respect others decisions not to have ME breathing my germs on their food.
I bet your co-workers appreciated it when you did not blow out the candles but if you had the flu why were you at work anyway breathing your flu germs all through the office/shop/store or where ever you work and I certainly hope you don't work in the food industry. Maybe you should have 1.stayed at home or 2. worn a surgical mask while you could infect others. Juts a thought !!

Newstart, do you know what an incubation period is ?

and where did rabbit say he didn't wear a mask?

Not sure but rabbit said quote " I had the flu at the time" so I am assuming he/she was able to pass on the flu to others, different if the statement had been "I had had the flu "

well, you see, it's like this .... I wasn't AT work spreading my germs everywhere, I was AT HOME but when they all came to my place AFTER WORK it was they that made the choice wasn't it? They KNEW I was off work sick.
I still stand by my view that BLOWING OVER COMMUNAL FOOD IS DISGUSTING - no matter how old one is.
If you think it's so harmless, next time your food is too hot .... go out to the street and have the first person that walks past come and BLOW on your food to cool it off. ]:)

He didn't say he didn't wear a mask but then again he didn't say he did so are we to assume he wore a mask all day at work ?
I still think staying home when one has the flu is the best thing for the sick person and also the people who he may come in contact with at work or in the street or wherever. Doctors say "if you have the flu or a bad cold stay home" If he had the flu that is much worse than a cold.

it appears he stayed home 😛

You must still be feeling a bit under the weather because you appear to be having a problem managing your anger (settle down). I have never suggested it is a good idea to deliberately blow on food, I commented about blowing out candles on a cake and some people here (who shall remain nameless ) have turned the blowing into Hurricane Katrina.
Can't we have a discussion without some people whipping up a 40 knot gale (now that's a real blow)

just to clarify, I guess I should have said "while I was still working" as distinct from now when I am no longer working ie I have retired from work ... at the time "I was still at work" or better still "still working" or "still in employment" which could have meant I was 'at work sick' or 'at home sick' ... all is forgiven ....
Now, can I come and BLOW on your food ... I promise I'll try not to spit.
