Allison Baden Clay Murder 2 years ago
I was reading up on this today, as the trial started Monday.
The senior Baden Clay was on the stand today and gave evidence about something his wife told him about his daughter in law..................................I thought they usually objected and called that heresay?
Don't they do that in Australia? have I watched too many American crime shows?

What puzzles me is the repeated referral of the scratches on his face, supposedly a shaving accident.
Surely the forensic investigators have taken scrapings from underneath the womans fingernails, but nothing is mentioned about any of it or any results.
Newspapers love to dramatise every report. So what is what and who knows the truth?

well, decomposition? and detachment of fingernails. My comments are based on the court proceedings not the media.

I read reports that said because the body had been exposed to the elements for weeks there was little chance of useful scrapings from under the fingernails.

Pathologists autopsy testament:..... Now he also told the court, it was a lot of detail in this autopsy questioning as you can imagine, he told the court that you can never given an accurate answer about how long a person has been dead for but he assumed that it was about 11 days and that the changes to her body were consistent with that.

Actually the media were very respectful of the family ( Allison's daughers, her parents etc) at the time she was missing and as well after her body was found. There was no 'dramatising'.

How did her blood, get into the back of her husbands vehicle...... and there is no way the scratches on his face were from
shaving......definitely from finger nails.......

Certainly looks that way.

I'm following this case elsewhere, I can't get into it here due to the expectation the thread will be gone at the slightest whim.
