Your so called "asylum seekers" are not seeking asylum the vast majority of them are seeking a hand out, which is too freely available to them at taxpayers cost.
there is no way I would go to a country where I don't know anyone or can't even speak their language just so that I could get a hand-out
you really should re-think that poddster

You may not, but there are tens of thousands of others that do.

it doesn't make sense that people would leave their home family and friends to go half way round the world - to get a hand-out
more likely they want to be safe imo
why did your family come here??

but why did your family come here- was it for a better life or a hand-out??
I realize that it takes a while for people to be able to stand on their own two feet- language barriers can be a problem though, especially for employment

Glee, if a person has had never earned a dollar in their life but exist on welfare payments, how are they paying tax?
Go on say GST, but that GST payment has come from the welfare handout. Ciggie tax, booze tax. entertainment tax petrol tax etc. all from the handout those who do not earn by their own effort pay no even a brass razoo.
Care to debate that?

Must have been for a handout. Isn't that what they all come here for?
