Bull S, I lot of women have had to leave abusive husbands to go on a benefit, then they are abused for being a bludger on society.
Where are all the part time jobs for these women, who is going to look after the children.
What boss is going to let a mother stay home on wages if one of the children are sick.
If you have not been through this what the hell do you know.

But it's not about the people in your post. It's about those who expect to be carried by the rest of us taxpayers because they think it's their right. Not about those forced into to circumstances beyond their control

For a time when i was in my 50s I was not employed but I still made sure that I had an income to raise my 3 children even though i was a sole parent. Not an easy thing to do but certainly not impossible. the difference was that i did not expect to be handed employment on a silver platter.

I am more than willing to give people a hand up. Do that daily. I have no time at all for those who believe they are owed for what ever reason they come up with.
So, presuming all these people you 'give a hand to' are not family or personal friends how do you tell which ones are genuine?

And there by you have exposed your attitude as one who expects to be carried and is just for taking
I notice that you did not answer the question, why not?

A small group of people come to you and tell you that they are starving and you, being the compassionate, person that you are, say ok you can have shelter in the pickers huts and i will feed you so that you do not go hungry.
Time comes to pick the apples and you ask the people that you have cared for to help pick the apples ready for the market.
they say "No we do not want to do that" but still expect you to provide food and shelter.
What would you do?
How often has that happened to you?
Do you know anybody personally that that has happened to?
