What exactly does prince Philip do for the 1/2 million he gets a year?  That is besides cutting the odd ribbon. 

Nova Peris was one of 450 people who received the OAM, many of whom most Australians never heard of.  The knighthood is given to 2.

Hasn't got the best of reputations up north, although I didn't know of the "other" scandal until the media published it.

He had done more by the age of 21 and certainly 25 than most had done in a lifetime.

And then he had to give up a very promising and decorated Naval career, not a choice I would have made.

she was probably awarded it for that reason, Makes sense to me. Nothing to do with politics

and the "scandal" as you call it came much later, last year wasn't it. I don't think Gillard had a crystal ball re: nova perris marriage
