On this day in 1966 our Australian Soldiers fought in the Battle of Long Tan, we lost fine young men and many more were injured

RIP all those Australians that died that day, and the many that have died since.

Battle of Long Tan

RIP brave men

I knew some of the wounded, and I know some who weren't

When I first met Lt Col Harry Smith he was a major and then promoted to captain.

I was only 19, and I worked at 2 Mil Hosp Ingleburn.

It doesn't seem like 50 years

Blessed are the cracked, for they are the ones who let in the light.

Our Mate's are Gone, but not forgotten, in all wars, war is Hell. If you have never been there, then consider yourself fortunate.
