I live in reasonably large centre that gets smashed with tourists for maybe 8 weeks of the year, but the rest of the time its big enough to have all of the services,but small enough that most people know each other.
New years eve, the missus and I drove to a fairly wild beach 15 km. from town and by 9.00 pm. we had it all to ourselves....all 3 km. of beach ....Literally to ourselves..........
Something those in N.S.W. shiny shiny towns could only dream of............... And currently no COVID so life is going on pretty much as normal..............
And best of all, real estate prices are less than half the price of coastal N.S.W towns, but the beaches and sunsets are just as good. That means we are not slaving our lives away, just to keep up with the mortgage
........All up, I,m pretty happy living where I am with no desire at all to move to expensive, N.S.W. shiny towns.

It doesn’t have a great community feel. The whole area is lovely. Climate and scenery but many areas are like above ground cemeteries.
