Best Vacuum For Dog Hair?

Well that was an interesting exercise.....I searched for Choice and the Vaccuum cleaners without logging into my account.

There is a very good and comprehensive list of the cleaners tested in July 2016 with final results.

It may be worth a look....it seems that most cleaners perform well on pet hair from the very cheapest to the most expensive.

I am so glad I don't have to buy a new one...the choice is mind boggling.  I have never heard of some of the brands but they perform very well.

whats wrong with your floor boards?

i agree, changing from carpet to anything is expensive, even if you dont have any problems.

i was lucky my floors were ok, dont have traditional floor boards (tounge and groove) but the modern less apealing partical board sheets. that was a shock when i removed the carpet in the front rooms, never saw that kind of flooring before.

i can see why they use it though, much cheaper and easy as to install.

i think with vaccuums tests can be deceptive.

what might do a fab job when its new out of the box may be carp after a year or two.

before i bought the dyson i had a bissell, cost over $700 and was stuffed after 2 years (just outside the warranty wouldnt you know it)

when it was new it was fantastic but after 2 years it was noisy and rattly. then it blew up.

Ty for doing some research Lyndal, I tend to agree, the vac I need to replace was bought from Godfreys, 7 or so yr ago, it cost under $200 and was great re dog hair, but sadly, it has carked it

David,  some of the floor boards, in the lounge room need replacing, dont know how many they have been there for 120 yrs, so not a bad innings. Moving out all the furniture, lifting the carpet etc., is just too much for us to undertake atm    ..... Maybe further down the track but not now
