I have a drawer full of old photos with negatives that I would like to put into albums. Heard that the albums with the clear sheet coverning damages photos in time. Would like advice of which album to buy. Love sitting down and looking at old photo albums and would like to organise mine.

Yes, dont buy the ones with a plastic covering, you need to buy one that is acid free, the acid free ones protect your photos forever. Scrap booking shops sell all sizes of acid free books, I am sure they will have one to suit your needs.

Also, you can buy albums from online scrapbook shops or here on ebay.
Just google scrapbook shops online. If you dont have a shop that you can go to near you.

Thanks purple_haize. Had a quick look here for acid free albums. Do the photos slide into place under clear cover and stay in place.
Some of the pics a bit hard to see.

Using the plastic is not acid free, think you can get albums with sort of a tissue over the page which is acid free, just have to move the tissue, I guess.
I do scrapbooking and the photos are stuck in an album with acid free glue, that you can buy at kmart or scrapbook store or on ebay.
The acid free album and glue, preserve your photos for all time, where as the albums with plastic wreck the photos in time.

The s/book albums do have a plastic sort of cover for the page, but it isnt plastic, it is just an acid free cover and yes, you can see thru it to the photos.

The old photo albums from a few decades ago, with the lift up clear page and white sticky page to put the photos on, were bad for photos. It was very hard to get the photos out of them again also.
What about the albums that thave individual plastic sleeve for each photo on the page, that you slot the photo into? The type sold in Target, Myer, Kodak etc. are they photo safe?
That is what I use. I haven't had any problems with them and have had them for 20 or so years.
The plastic side of the photo slot, can split in the corner if they are handled a lot.
