The ACL’s Wendy Francis started a change.org petition on Saturday after being alerted to the image of a busty blonde woman with only thin strips of pink fabric covering her nipples.

“If this image was in an adult workplace it would be deemed as sexual harassment and removed,” Ms Francis wrote on the petition.

“Our children's innocence should not be compromised by attending the Brisbane Ekka - one of the highlights of the year for many families. Sexual imagery is inappropriate here.

“Please have these images removed and keep the Ekka as a family friendly place to go.”

RNA chief executive Brendan Christou said officials were made aware of the image on Saturday night and had it covered overnight.

Totally agree with covering it up at a venue aimed at families. I'm no prude but it shocks me some of the explictly sexual nature of advertising.

Thats not beachwear, I've never seen anyone dress like that at the beach, its the kind of "bikini" they use in magazines like playboy etc, nothing beachy about it. Definitely inappropriate for a kids area.

seen less coverage at the local beach, lots of kids about, lots of women are topless at our beaches - not something for me personally but would never start a petition against it.

see post 8:

"Yes we have nudist and topless beaches here too, Band. Nudist beaches are not generally visited by families, although ppl can be topless on public beaches without censure.

The Ekka (short for Exhibition) is not a beach and people tend not to go there for swimming or sunbathing.

More for the exhibition of animals, agricutlure, machinery and produce. Rides and shows, ice creams and Pluto Dogs, that sort of thing.

So regular clothing is the norm, and semi-pornographic advertising is not required."
