The image of a woman in a skimpy bikini painted on an Ekka ride was covered up after the Queensland director of the Australian Christian Lobby slammed it as inappropriate for children.

The ACL’s Wendy Francis started a change.org petition on Saturday after being alerted to the image of a busty blonde woman with only thin strips of pink fabric covering her nipples.
“If this image was in an adult workplace it would be deemed as sexual harassment and removed,” Ms Francis wrote on the petition.
“Our children's innocence should not be compromised by attending the Brisbane Ekka - one of the highlights of the year for many families. Sexual imagery is inappropriate here.
“Please have these images removed and keep the Ekka as a family friendly place to go.”
RNA chief executive Brendan Christou said officials were made aware of the image on Saturday night and had it covered overnight.
Totally agree with covering it up at a venue aimed at families. I'm no prude but it shocks me some of the explictly sexual nature of advertising.

They probably could have made that bikini just a tad bigger.

Don't children go to the beach? Or do discriminating parents put blindfolds on them?

Is that a Bikini, I thought it was a small piece of ribbon 🙂

I am guessing most parents don't take their children to nudist beaches.................
agree that it is not a bikini and quite inappropriate outside of a brothel or men's girlie mags................
Would a man in a very small thong/g string/brief be shown like that at the ekka? no.

I've been on beaches all over the world, and that ribbon is far more modest than some of the microscopic tops I've encountered........and yes, kids were on those same beaches.......

Yes we have nudist and topless beaches here too, Band. Nudist beaches are not generally visited by families, although ppl can be topless on public beaches without censure.
The Ekka (short for Exhibition) is not a beach and people tend not to go there for swimming or sunbathing.
More for the exhibition of animals, agricutlure, machinery and produce. Rides and shows, ice creams and Pluto Dogs, that sort of thing.
So regular clothing is the norm, and semi-pornographic advertising is not required.

sad that the australian christian lobby haven't anything better to do, they should have joined the Nun who was arrested yesterday for protesting in hockeys office over children in detention camps, in the last 4 months 45 religious leaders from a range of denominations have been arrested after holding prayer vigils for children in detention camps. Instead the acl are carrying on about a pair of breasts that I doubt kids would have even noticed or cared about.
