"We have our fingers crossed the Coalition can resolve this crisis"
Nothing nasty or snide, nothing smarmy or overbearing. Maybe the Labor party can put it's backstabbing ways behind them under his leadership
Some of the Labor supporters here could follow his example
At last a comment that does not contain any nastiness, thank you icy.

All sides of politics could take a lesson.
I am sorry for being skeptical but I suspect there is more going on here with this little crisis, they are ALL being very diplomatic..............but why??
(EXCEPT FOR Mr Abbott and his difficulty with the apology of course)

Why does he have to apologise for something even the Indonesians do, they want apologise for spying ?
Solution - they all sit down and work out a compromise.

They're probably thanking their lucky stars it's Mr Abbot, having to deal with their previous leader's mess and not them.

Bill Shorten does seem to be staying away from the name calling and blame game stuff so far ( incl. the negativity and aggression TA showed when in Opposition).

Az, tell me why the Pm should apologise for something that he was not responsible for?
Also an apology is as good as an admission of quilt that could and would be used against Australia in the future. So far there is only the allegation from Snowden.
All this righteous indignation on the part of Indonesia is just saber rattling and an excuse of shirking any responsibility in the people smuggling industry, yes industry, a primary one at that and a further attempt at carving out a larger slice of aid dollars

Exactly who is responsible for it? the policy had to come from somewhere.
Was Rudd responsible for the need to apologise to the first inhabitants of Australia?
I think he has the responsibility because he is the PM, no doubt each one inherits responsibilities.
allegation???
