I see Billy boy popped over to Iraq for a quick visit to see the troops
There doesn't seem to be any access to bill's surprise trip photos... all very contrived and tightly controlled by Bill's office.
Where was the independent media photos and video ?
Then again, if it is unsafe for a few Australian media then it is unsafe for the Opposition leader of Australia, he shouldn't have went there either.
But the more I look at those last pics, the more fake they look. Were the real free press allowed to go to the RAAF / Army photo shoot?
What I haven't seen is the usual pics of soldiers enthusiastically cheering him on... Is that in any of video ?
Then again, there was talk about him recording a speech in a Labor room so crowd could be added later..... who really knows ?
Anyway, the troops do NOT look very happy about him being there.
One asleep, a few looking VERY bored and not one smile.

in a neanderthaler sort of way. in a civilised country people would have been disgusted by his behaviour. not here though. aggressive machos are well regarded here.

.. what is good for Abbott is good for Shorten as well.
You can't have it both ways.
Rubbish. Abbott is running the country (even though he and his crew continue to act as if they are in opposition) and must be held to account for his actions. What Shorten does is of secondary importance, until he becomes PM at the next election.
I agree 100%.

Man that's generous, he will be lucky if he is still around as PM by the end of March.

And it's MY thread so I can post what I like in it.
Looks like I've stumbled into the kindergarten.
An O.P. doesn't "own" a thread - they start a discussion and others respond as they see fit.
That is the tone of the thread.

You are all quite happy to tell others what they can't post on threads.
And you especially, bossing people around I see on various threads last week.
I would have thought that you had a similar matching photo to go with Glee's on the othert thread,
although they do say no two icebergs are the same ???????
Crosby
Does it still work ?

Maybe he just isn't as desperate for macho-man photo oportunities as Abbott. Maybe his visit was more about seeking information than seeking publicity. It's not as if nobody reported the visit.

And let's face it, if there had been photos and videos all over the news you would have been the first one one jumping up and down and accusing him of trying to upstage the PM.

Shorten usurp the PM in front of troops ?
Now that's a laugh.
The PM at 50+ can hack it with soldiers half his age and they said so, they said they were impressed.
Shorten would die in 10 minutes, that is if he had the balls to give it a go.
