Birth photography: is it a 'thing'

This story of a woman who gave birth in the car on the way to hospital has me perplexed - the event was photographed by a professional photographer who was hired to take photos of the birth.

Since when do people hire professional photographers for a birth??

Yep, does seem be "the thing" now. I've seen a few references to it lately.
I suppose you might need to have one (a birth photographer) so that every moment of your life can be more beautifully shown on Instagram or wherever.

I have a girlfriend that had it done yrs ago, but it was her hubby that was taking the photos. which I guess it is okay if the partner takes them, however, it isnt something I would have contimplated doing.

Some things are meant to be memories, not ones that can be visited in films, imo.

Each to their own though.....................I think my children might not want to inherit that movie! lol

who knew>

I have no idea why anyone would want to be reminded of giving birth fullstop.

Saw a hippy chick on u tube the other week giving birth in a creek, lots of wandering around naked (eeww, it wasnt pretty) then squats until it popped out. It was gross. why on earth would they think anyone else would want to see that.

I find it all very very disturbing. What a vain society we have become.
