May I clarify?

The people smugglers arrive here, and we take their broken boats off them and give them ones in better condition. They get to keep them? Forever?

Last I heard we were preparing a fleet of lifeboats on which to ferry people back to from where they originated, but the boats would remain ion "our posession and under our ownership".

Has this changed again?

It's not posssible to know how it is being handled exactly, the Abbott policy is secrecty. Logic should tell you if you are being told there are no boats at the exact time that the government has stopped releasing information it does not sound very legitimate now does it?

They gave us daily updates of arrivals when in opposition 🙂 ha ha ha ha

Thanks Meep, that answered heaps of my questions.

So even though this is a traaditionally quiet operiod (people smugglers have Christmas vacation too, apparently), we have infact had some arrivals during the same period in recent years. So the current numbers are definitely an improvement.

It will be interesting to know if this is sustainable.

NO labor gave us 10 minute updates of arrivavls when they were in power..... every 10 minutes they were running to the press talking up their failures... ha ha ha ha ha ha 

Labor and their obsession with the press talked up their own boat arrivals like a badge of honor and like any good opposition  the LNP just used the figures..

Mind you labor opened our borders and national security up to the people smugglers... 

Labor's failed approach that allowed more than 50,000 people to turn up on over 800 boats and in excess of 1,100 people dead. 

The LNP are restoring control over our borders that was surrendered under Labor.

but the CS superslueths usually manage to dig up ionformation from overseas sources though. Is Mr Abbott's policy so pervasive that it has imposed a ban on world wide media?

If he is that powerful, Prime Minister be damned, this guy should be world leader!

You are wrong/incorrect and reading the wrong material Nero. I'm right about this one, just like I was about former LNP leaders criticizing abbotts approach to the Asylum Seekers and his secrecy, you may see it as a win win situation but you cannot possibly know 🙂

Ok, it is Mr Abbott has a policy of secrecy.

Does this prevent the opposition from releasing any information?

The general public from saying "officer, officer, I saw the whole thing"?, releasing clips on you tube?

Is it illegal for someone not in Mr Abbott's government, or in government employ to release details if they witness such an occurrence?

Rudds plan works to an extent , but why do they keep arrivals secret ? why the lifeboats ? they are still coming, its just better hidden.
