So there is all the information you are all desperately wanting to hear including Indonesia.
Scott Morrison and the Abbott govt are grown ups and getting on with the job without all the shouting and every 10 minutes media interviews.
The Abbott govt is doing what they got voted into to do and the left hate that fact and seem to want to see more people drown at sea.

But do you believe it's about "who's most in need"?
By my reckoning, if genuinely in need of asylum, they're pretty much all in the same boat (no pun intended).
For me, it's about safety for the citizens we already have. I'd like to think that my government was sure that they weren't letting in potential trouble. I'd like our government to be sure that they're not letting in people simply running from conviction of a crime such as **bleep** or murder or child porn etc.
I'm wondering also, these people smugglers - I wonder why we don't capture them, and try them under our terrorism laws, we could seize their boats under the proceeds of crime act, and their money too. (as their cargo is unknown - no passports/identity papers, they could be transporting terrorists - and under terrorism laws, it's guilty until proven innocent)
If I smuggle drugs into indonesia, "drug trafficing is penalized by death", why can't we have similar laws for people smugglers.

and with the separation of powers, how could there be corruption in this process?
The courts and the government act independently.
Corruption from where?

I agree, we have enough of those already ๐
well yes, we do.
and as they are citizens, we have to take responsibility for them. But I don't think we should invite any extras in if we can help it.
