Bogong Moths

The Bogong moths are here again.  I don't remember them being in such plague proportions as the are this year.

Last night there would have been 4 to 5 hundred of them in the garage, and a couple of hundred in the house.

Re: Bogong Moths

i found a dead moth on my front door step

it was around 10cm long and huge width

it was a cross between light brown and a murky off green colour

it was really weird

and i saw a snail out near the back of my cat avery and it was moving real slowwww

but was 3 times the size of any ive ever seen and the colour was a bit off on it too

i cant wait to see what i find next LOL

Re: Bogong Moths

Lol Spot--the sneaky mongrels hover outside the back door.

Then when i open the door-the forward scouts enter and try to lift the lid

on the electric frying pan.

When they give up and land on the inside of the flywire door -

give em a squirt of window cleaner.

Open the door and they crash out side-telling their mates not to enter.

Re: Bogong Moths

Bogong moths do not eat clothes, fabrics.

They fly from Qld to Snowy mountains in the spring. The high strong winds we have been blowing them off course and we had a lot of them here a fews weeks ago ( Sth Coast, NSW)
They are not normally seen here, therefore they aren't in plague proportions.

There was an article in the Sydney morning Herald stating the above a few weeks ago.

Normally we don' t see them.
