Bondi beach shooting

This is not Australian.

I must say I am extremely disappointed to see view points that are not conducive of what  our future is about.

So much of the world does not condone actions of past atrocities any longer and such political statesments are pointless and only discredit any organisation trying to prove a point.

Grow up and realise peace is natures earth’s destiny.

Re: Bondi beach shooting

I am horrified and disgusted and appalled by this terrorism act.

I realise that some of the statements about “This is an attack on all Australians” (or words to that effect) are trying to convey solidarity… yet it’s a co-opting of terrorist violence directed at Jewish people, not any old Australian. It minimises what this is.

I can “stand with” the Jewish community until the stars fall from the sky… but what does that mean? Stand with? Am I doing something active? Am I achieving anything by “sending positive thoughts”? I can speak out about anti-Semitism, I can say comforting things, but two men today were using assault rifles with real bullets aimed at Jewish people peacefully celebrating Chanukah. I’ve never seen political words stop bullets.

What has to happen to stop this? Actions, not words… Actions, not finds allocated to communities talking about what to do… The law in Australia must catch up immediately to what is happening, or it will only get worse.

I’m angry and I’m saddened beyond words.

Re: Bondi beach shooting

Our Prime Minister read from a prepared statement which very obviously was written by his staff and therefore he said nothing from his heart. What happened at Bondi was shocking and a reflection of the racial hatred in this country now. We may not be able to do something active at this time, but I think it is important that we stand by each other. We can do something active when we next have visit the polls. No political BS can prevent that if we feel strongly enough.
