If the horrific murder of two Australians is carried out then we should boycott Bali and all things Indonesian.
We gave over a $billion dollars to this country after the tsunami, we prop then up with foreign aid and they spit in our faces.
They have ignored all diplomatic attempts to mitigate their sentences and Watta a Joko has now signed the order to send them to the "killing Island" wouldn't want to kill them on Bali now would they, might upset the tourism business.
I'm appalled and disgusted, scared and frightened for these men and heartsick for their families.

IW: "Why didn't Corby get the death penalty? The whole country is riven with corruption, right to the top."
I suggest you do a little research IW. Start with Indonesia's controlled substances list and Indonesian Law No. 35/2009.
Simply put, Corby was only charged with POSSESION of a Group 1 drug, whilst Chan and Sukumaran were charged with TRAFFICKING a Group 1 drug.
As for your apparent xenophobia IW, that is your personal business.

I never mentioned April Fool's day.
i thought that was what you meant
by the following:
Is it April already? Am I in another universe? Nup, just looked out of the window, all is OK.
if april was not in reference to april fool's
then what is the siginificance of april?

PM Abbott has just announced they will show their very deep disapproval of Indonesia's action if they proceed to murder these two Australians.
I really don't know what more he and Ms Bishop and every other living previous PM's, all Attorneys General of our country, not counting the hundreds of thousands of signatures sent with a petition to Watta Joko.
I am heartened that so many are against this barbaric practice. All we can hope for is that these two Australians don't die in vain and Indonesia will rethink its practice of state sanctioned murder.

i would have never thought you were
referring to your sister's birthday. in
context, that would make no sense
either.
Is it April already? (my sister's birthday?) Am I in another universe? Nup, just looked out of the window, all is OK.
ref to april fool's would be the logical
conclusion. i'm sure most would agree.
Who knows?
i was hoping you would ![]()

A small glimmer of hope here:
TONY Abbott has sharpened his rhetoric over Indonesiaโs moves to execute Andrew Chan and Myuran Sukumaran, citing the deaths of nine Australian service personnel during a tsunami recovery effort last decade.
The Prime Minister, speaking on the Gold Coast, said the planned executions made him โsick to my stomachโ and Australians will be โgrievously let downโ if the killings of the Bali Nine drug smugglers go ahead.
Mr Abbottโs comments came as Foreign Minister Julie Bishop warned the executions would taint Indonesiaโs image abroad and undermine that countryโs efforts to rescue its own citizens from death row overseas.
Mr Abbott said the macabre delay in transferring Chan and Sukumaran because of โtechnical problemsโ at the Nusakambangan penal complex, including an inadequate execution site, was an โencouraging signโ but it should not be read as โan indication that there is now a serious prospect of clemencyโ.
โI am sick in my stomach at the thought of what may happen to these two unfortunate young Australians in a very short space of time if the Indonesian government does not treat our representations on their behalf with the same respect that it respects its representations on behalf of its citizens on death row to be treated,โ Mr Abbott said.
โWe will be letting Indonesia know in absolutely unambiguous terms that we feel grievously let down.
โLetโs not forget that a few years ago when Indonesia was struck by the Indian Ocean tsunami, Australia sent $1 billion worth of assistance, we sent a significant contingent of our armed forces to help in Indonesia with humanitarian relief and Australians lost their lives in that campaign to help Indonesia.โ

Poor polks is totally against the death penalty but is certainly in idle's firning line
I am not "going off" at anybody, this subject is far too grave for partisan one upmanship. Polks made frivolous remarks about coffee and April fools day and was called out for it.
If you have something to add the the subject of this thread then put it rather than a sideways swipe at me. This thread has already been censured by the mods and yet here you are stirring.
Did they remove your personal attacks, name calling and off topic posts?.....Because there has been quite a few....lol.
Tony Abbott does seem to be stepping up the pressure.
