City is gridlocked and damage is quite severe. Hailstones the size of oranges reported, my daughter's car is smashed, every window and every panel and so many people stranded now for over 4 hours.

Pleased your daughter is ok azure.
2016greencat, your mate sure would have a wild, stormy tale to tell after that!
My husband, the two dogs and I went to the bedroom, laid on the bed (the dogs hid under the doona) we watched the storm out the glass doors. I thought our roof was going to blow off. Our house lost power, but only for a 5 minutes, three times.
The lightening was brilliantly bright, and I counted each time 1/1000, 2/1000... waiting for the thunder, knowing that it was going to be deafening; it was. Gawd I hate thunder!
The storm lasted for 35 minutes. We didn't get any damage and I left my husband snoring on the bed.
