Brisbane Weather???

Late last night, they showed major hail storms in Brisbane (on the U.S. news channels).

They showed golf ball sized hail crashing to the ground; damaging a lot of cars, and property.

I  hope the CSers from the area,  and your families, are doing okay.

Re: Brisbane Weather???

TCM, we are in northern NSW not far from Queensland and this is a reglar occurance. We had several storm cells like this last year and lost parts of our roof twice last year and about 12 metres of fencing. It is part of living in a sub tropical region and when you choose to live in these areas you are aware of the risks. Fortunately both the governments and insurance companies can deal with the situation quite quickly.

Hope everyone in Brisbane is getting back to normal. You had a terrible 2013 and now this.

Thanks tcm,

We live 35 kilometers (21 miles) on the north side of Brisbane CBD. We certainly were hit by the storms, but not as severely as the central business district, south and western areas.

It would be good to have a post from our CSers around Brisbane to see how they are or if their homes/cars were damaged. ♥

Positive thoughts to you all. xo

Re: Brisbane Weather???

I was working in the city when it struck - knew it was coming but outside it was bright blue - then one massive off-the-decibel clap of thunder announced it's arrival - it was fairly extreme. The hail came down like they were being fired from guns. No damage to the building I was in but several cars looked like golf balls with the hail damage - a few windows cracked or smashed on some buildings - in the concrete you could see where the hail hit because it tore off the dirt and grim. Alot of damage - mostly vegetation, rubbish signs etc but it was as exciting with a little bit of trepidation but then I like big storms but hate the aftermath of destruction. Getting home by public transport was almost non existent for what seemed like hours (same thing as with last week's storm)

Paints, although those pictures look scary, I have to also add that the pictures are amazing.
