Broken Hill things to do

Am planning a campervan trip for a months time.

Fisrt stop Cobar. Just overnight. Then to BH where we might stop a few days and am hoping there are some locals here that can tell me good places to eat, any music at night, good walks, or things to see other than the usual.

Thanks Katy/Duffy

Already have all the tourist things pegged. Was more of the local stuff I was interested in.

We will head toward the Flinders Ranges after that so anything we shoud stop at along the way?

Make sure you don't miss the Broken Hill Sculptures and Living Desert Sanctuary - schedule your visit from mid afternoon to take in sunset.

Some great flora and fauna walking also.

The scenery is amazing even if the sculptures are not particularly to your taste.

There were some good oppies there ๐Ÿ˜„ I also enjoyed the sculptures and walk at the living desert sanctuary. There's loads of galleries, we checked out the Pro Hart one and the town gallery in the main street (sorry forget the name). I enjoyed the town one, but we weren't there long enough to visit many.

OpShop? Excellent! That's the kind of info I need.

Anyone know of any decent pubs. Or pubs to avoid?

A local recommended the Democratic Club in the Main Street. To tell you the truth I can't remember what the meal was like but a mine explosion went off while we were there, very cool ๐Ÿ™‚

Re: Broken Hill things to do

My younger brother and his partner lived and worked in Broken Hill for about 8 months last year, they both raved about the Palace Hotel, they ate there a few times. They are two of the tightest most complaining blokes anyone would ever meet and have travelled extensively, only lived in Oz for 2 years out of the last 20 odd - so if they think highly of the joint it might be good. Woman Happy
