THEIR marriage was always met with raised eyebrows and now it's over.
Socialite Brynne Edelsten and her 70-year-old millionaire husband, Geoffrey Edelsten, have called it quits on their four-year marriage.
New Idea magazine reports that the couple are "both devastated" as they tried so hard to make it work.
A source close to the couple confirmed to news.com.au that the pair split before Christmas and that the magazine article had "blindsided both of them".
Brynne, who turns 31 at the end of the month, has made no secret of the problems in her marriage speaking out about her loneliness and longing to have a family in her reality TV show, Brynne: My Bedazzled Life.
Her dramatic weight loss last year also caused many to question the wellbeing of the normally bubbly and vibrant personality.
The marriage was the first for Brynne and second for Geoffrey, who is an Australian medical entrepreneur and one time owner of the Sydney Swans AFL club.
Funny, when I read of Geoffey Edelsten filing for bankruptcy in the US yeserday, I thought - wonder if Brynne will be around for much longer then.
Sure enough, this article popped up just now.

I doubt that she will be poking around in charity bins.

I imagine it cost a lot of money to keep her attention

The married couple have split up because Brynne is apparently “unable to forgive her publicity-obsessed husband for a reported dalliance with another woman more than 18 months ago”, according to Fairfax.
And fair enough... all the jewels, penthouses and private jets in the world wouldn’t make up for cheating.
Brynne’s publicist confirmed to Fairfax’s Andrew Hornery that the couple had split six weeks ago and that Brynne was "keen to stay in Melbourne, she has built a life here and she doesn't really want to go back to America".
The cheating happened back in March 2012 when an American woman claimed that Geoffrey paid for her to go on a romantic trip to Miami. Geoffrey recently filed for bankruptcy in the US.

Poor silly Brynne. Hope at least she gets compensated for her troubles!

I 'inadvertantly' watched an episode of her reality show. I don't care
how blonde she is, he spoke to her in a very demeaning manner.
Hope she gets enough money to cover the humiliation of being married
to him. She didn't deserve the treatment I saw

So blondes kind of deserve to be spoken down to, just not in a demeaning manner? Ok, I'll get over that.
I fhought she was a bit ditzy at first, too, until I heard her interviewed on the radio one morning. She came across as a very sweet and caring person, and for all accounts sounded like she was happy with her marriage.
I still think she's a bit ditzy, but in a nice way, and not because she's blonde.

Fair enough I deserved that one. I'm also blonde. It was a throwaway remark and I should have thrown it away.
She was given a very hard time on Dancing with the Stars by the public, but
everyone that knew her said she was just delightful

Yes, they do. Same on the diving show that she appeared in.
