Bullying Racism being offended and Political correctness

I’ve never watched the show but I saw the original video doing the rounds yesterday. All I could think was it was on off the cuff comment so I was pleased to read this today

I don't think that Samantha Armytage is racist. She may be a bit of an air-head. However I do believe that she lacks an understanding of certain things in life. And it's this lack of understnding that often assists racism. I do remember seeing Sam interacting in what  I percieve to be an almost appreciative manner of the woman menntioned here . Sam in the past has said "Got to love her", called her the "Come back Queen" and if memory serves me right said, "Good on her".

Then again, what are the qualifications to be a media presenter on 7, 9 & 10?

CLUE; Tony Jones and Kerry O'Brien both seen here on Q&A  don't have those qualifications.

I’ve never watched the show, the video was posted on Facebook as a poor effort to prove she’s a racist, I don’t know if she is or isn’t but the fact that she didn’t offend the twins or their mother need some serious comprehending if it’s going to be used in the black lives matter cause.

I haven't got Sam fully worked out yet. Then again I make it an effort not to watch Ch 7.  The few times I have seen her, having listened to her talk on certain issues, I get the impression she did well at school but she doesn't have much real life experiences. She may have led a sheltered life too. She may be an unknnowing assister of racism and bigotry by her lack of understanding of real things, and she possibly has a one sided view on historial aspects of Australia  courtesy of influence by others.. That doesn't make her a racist and she's probably innocent of that accusation (If there is still is or was one). Hopefully nothing aboiut her would be used in the Black Lives Matter cause and I doubt that it would be. There are plenty of racsists around to choose from.

The show’s producer Michael Pell added that “Sam has always admitted that her own fair complexion was a disadvantage in the Australian environment,” and apologised for any misunderstanding or offence.

I don't understand why she would say her fair complexion is a disadvantage.  I don't get it at all.

She was brought up in the country, with a lot of time spent outdoors.

With her fair skin, she burns quickly in our hot sun.  That's all she meant, a physical rather than social or political disadvantage.

I’ve just spent 9 months in Africa and they don’t like the sun on their skin either. They too get sunburnt
