Shopping at my local supermarket the other day I came across a young mum playing a flute near the entrance door..with her playing on a rug were her two young children and a baby in a pram.An old hat supported a sign stating her husband was looking for work and with 5 children to feed and cloth any contribution would be great...kinda made me feel sad & disappointed that she had her children there to beg for money(I did give)
I would be interested to see what other`s think

I wouldn't be buying food for the family unless I knew that this is what was needed and I knew any dietary requirements.I'd prefer to treat the woman with some respect by giving her the money to spend on what is needed rather than treat her as if she is incapable of doing so.
Nics, was she a good flautist?
Blue she played the flute beautifully..I asked her the names of her 2 children and I gave each $5.They were so happy and thankful...I think I must live a kinda of sheltered life as I don`t come across many people who busk or ask for money, especially when they have children with them..
It`s good to see everyone else`s opinion too..

I think its good for the children to see mum work for money, so many dont see that.
And what a strong woman she is, working and looking after her babies.

Who knows.....if she is a gifted flautist she may be snapped up for a part time paying job.
It will not be the first time this has happened to a busker. A lot of musicians started out this way.
The other aspect of what she is doing.......she is sharing her talent with passing people, giving joy..
I wish her and her famiily luck.
