Good morning all.

Been a busy couple of days. We finally picked up a generator yesterday, two new batteries for the fridge and freezer. Plus paid our return fare to the mainland. No wonder the bank account is now looking sad. But at least we had it there to use. Now we can go camp in some of the parks where they allow it.

We are off to Bruny Island today. Hoping for a nice sunny day.

We will leave Snug and head up the east coast on Monday. So looking forward to seeing a new area.

kezza more power to you - think you will be much happier with the social work anyway. Glad you were able to sell the books. I'm thinking 'rumbo' is rum? lol. If it is I do enjoy it with a diet coke.

Hi dame glad things are easing off for you work wise - hopefully means we get to see you pop in more often (we miss you!)

rosie how awful and scary what you went through. Please do rest up and so glad you are feeling better.

Purple enjoy Bruny (never been but would love to) - also hoping to see some pics.

losta - don't mind a nice drop of red wine myself (prefer merlot) - or white lol - (especially a nice wooded chardonnay). Cheers!

Morning all and up with the fowls as the OH is off to play a charity game mens only i bet there are lots of wives and partners going to have a nice quite day without the OH under foot:)

Have observed over time that as a lot of men age they become more child like...........many seem to be more and more dependent ...........dont see woman doing that as much........wonder why that is so

Well I am of for the sail and lunch in the tall ship today. Plus we have friends going with us, so that makes it even better.

Bruny was gorgeous. We are going to spend a week there when we return in November. Something to look forward to.

Have observed over time that as a lot of men age they become more child like...........many seem to be more and more dependent ...........dont see woman doing that as much........wonder why that is so

Good morning to the thread:)
Well Jen, I am going to have a big whinge in your thread today.
I actually love this forum and I care for so many people on it and I do not get time these days to read the board.
Last night and today I made the time and I could not believe so much of what I was reading.
It breaks my heart the animosity between people, most of whom I know and they are all in their own way such wonderful souls.
I posted somewhere that if we were all perfect we would not be here we would be up above wearing halos and saintly garb.
It is so sad at times to see what goes down on here as if someone needs support and is genuine this forum can really help and many do both emotionally and financially, I have seen so many wonderful things on here in my years here and I do not understand why old hurts need to be continually bought up time and time again.
Ok that is my vent now I feel better.
I do hope you are all doing well and having a nice weekend

Hi Dame and nice to see you about.

Its a totally free country say what how and when you like. as i will say what i want at any time........that is part of living in a democracy.

A democracy that has been maintained by many committed Australians that have put their lives on the line to maintain it., and are continuing to put their lives on the line to try and maintain a reasonable standard of living.

I have never suffered fools easily....and have always and will always be like that.......and take great exception to people that come to this country and cant be bothered or are too arrogant to take up Australian citizenship. We dont need leeches like that here taking up space........only too willing to hold their hands out for whatever....for whatever they can grab from the government.....whatever services they can bludge and cadge off.....but dont have the moral fortitude to say this is my country and im going to be real proud to call myself an Australian., and thereby swear allegiance.
