Woke this am early to the reports of the quake in New Zealand........my aged aunt and uncle live in Christchurch.......and we havent been able to contact them at all.......prayers would be appreciated......am going to be out and about all weekend so will be back later

Praying JV, I have a feeling some of my rellies on mums side are still in Christchurch too. Hoping that everyone is safe.

JVH prayers flying your way - hadn't heard the news regards an earthquake please do let us know your family are safe - thinking of you in this worrying time.

Hoping everyone is enjoying their weekend. My ma is still very weak and I have moved in to look after her. Hoping she picks up with new medication prescribed it has been 3 weeks now.

Hoping to be back for a friendly chat soonest and praying for some good news for JVH!

Hi Miss and im so sorry that your Mumma is still so poorly.......she would have to be losing weight big time with the issues she has.?

We finally got hold of the family in Christchurch late afternoon yesterday...........they are physically fine but very shaken.......have offered to come over and spend time with them but they are pretty tough old coots and want to try and get on top of things themselves.....but am in constant contact with them so will see how the next few days pan out

Thank you Just me..........am now in constant contact with them and ready to go over there if they dont cope mentally.......but they are tough old coots and fiercely independent:)....thanks for caring:)

Well was going to take OH out for the day over to Bright but all roads are closed between Bright, myrtleford, wang and Wodonga and there is still moderate rain falling so we could be isolated for a few days yet before the waters recede.

Really feeling for those further out who have had to evacuate. I don't think the rivers here will peak until at least tomorrow or even Tuesday. But hoping that everyone stays safe 🙂

Good afternoon all!

Hi JVH so relieved your family are physically okay hopefully not in shock which takes its toll also. So nice of you to offer to go over there. I did watch the news after your post and could not believe the devastation a miracle it was not worse casualties wise. Christchurch is such a small community!
My mum has lost heaps of weight which she can ill afford - back to the dr. tomorrow but I do think the new antibiotics are kicking in - despite making her so nauseaus. I am still staying with her as she cannot be left alone.

Hiya bella weather here abysmal also. No power this morning and no traffic lights when I popped out for supplies. My mum's street is littered with trees and debris.
Apparently my house has sprung a leak and lost a sheet of glass from the upstairs balcony which is the least of my worry right now.

hey all, how are you, not been in for a bit, just having a few issues...atm... had no power here yesterday from about 4pm til 12 am...

Thinking of you Mumma and hoping that shes feeling stronger soon..........that particular health issue makes one feel so very washed out.....hopefully tomorrow is a much brighter day for you both:)
