Good afternoon to the thread:)
Well I had friday at the hospital with ash all day as the previous night he attacked a nurse with glass from a photo frame(did not hurt her) she got away but on Friday morning he attacked another resident so they transported to hospital where they did a cat scan and other tests(nothing came to light)
He has been heavily sedated since friday night and he seems ok at the moment.
His daughter came from Toowoomba to see him and he was pleased.
There is something called a tack or tag team that are working out a management plan for him so will see how that goes.
I found out that he is in low care secure not high care and there are 23 residents and ONE nurse on at night, that seems to me an awful lot of responsiblilty for one person.
I am going to the home tomorrow and I am going to be asking some questions, not that I have any complaints regarding the staff but I do have some questions I need to have answered.
It is pouring rain up my way at the moment.

Hugs to the Dame...........and a nursing case like Ash so needs to be in a high secure unit..........at the nursing home where Mother was...........she went straight into High Care.........and there were only ever 12 patients at any time in that wing..........and that was totally and fully secure.

My bet is that the aggro is the same as Mothers and when Ash has another TIA that the aggro is basically going to go out the window............but until that happens hes got to be nursed and the condition managed........certainly not an easy call for any of you.

I kept on thinking over the weekend thank goodness hes in care and all this latest trauma didnt happen whilst at home with your Mumma...........certainly a guardian angel there somewhere:)

Hi JVH yes mum well on the mend - doesn't have to go back to the dr. unless she goes back a bit tho she still can't drive for another few days and still gets the dizzy spells. Neice goes to the Royal childrens tomorrow so fingers crossed for an improved result. Hope you are enjoying a great weekend!

Dame hopefully light at the end of the tunnel in regards to poor Ash and fine-tuning his care. You are an angel! Hope your mum is well! Did sound like too much responsibility for ONE nurse - think the residents need more than this.

About to head out for dinner (local Afghanistan restaurant) - with another couple (it's byo so got some lovely champers in the freezer) - hope everyone has a wonderful evening!
