Morning all.

Looks like another nice day here. Not too hot I hope.

JV I have some Malay house dresses and they are the best to wear in the summer. So can see why you are making the caftans. Lovely and cool.

Went to the casino yesterday and lost. Oh well have not been going at all this trip. Just can not be bothered. Had lunch and did a bit of shopping.

Got some smoked salmon from a place the Karen quilts told me about. Yummo , going to have it for lunch. Looking forward to that.

Kezza you can do that course. Good luck. Also I think you are not alone with the child thing. I know sometimes I thought I would neer get mine raised. And if I did they would never speak to me again. lol. But it turns out in the end. hugs to you and I will see you in September.

Hi JVH so sorry to hear Chrissy is having an awful time! It's normal she is frightened - my friend a few years back in the same situation was scared too - mostly through the night. Hardest thing is - there's not much you can do except be there for her. Are the Irish still here?

Well done re the kaftans - wish I could sew!! Love kaftans - so comfy!

Hi kezza - sounds like your 'little man' is not so little! Kids seem so much taller these days.

Hi MIss.........yes thankfully the Irish contingent are still here........and they are giving her great support..........yes shes frightened big time and at times angry with the cards she has been dealt........which is all very understandable......the Irish have extended their stay by three weeks..........and i have asked them what happens at the end of three weeks..........as personally i think they should be here right to the end........so its all a daily thing and trying to keep her on a bit of an even keel:)

Yes i have the sewing bug big time.........made a caftan for the OH to lounge around in to.........has golf clubs all over it:)

Well I went down the school today to ask about the mentoring program in schools, it appears that the funds have been cut sadly 😞 But on the upside the principal asked if I wanted paid Teachers Aide work. Can you believe that! I'm qualified but told him right now I don't need the money and would be happy to volunteer some time to get some experience.

Besides its a small school and they could do with using those funds for other things. This way I can still do FC, homeschool and offer a couple of afternoons a week and still study. I'm really excited!!!! It's an opportunity to do something in the community as well as work toward some goals.

Anyway will see what comes of it.

Morning all.

JV n we have not been down to Southport yet. Will get there soon I hope. This Monday and Tuesday night we are spending at Seven Mile Beach Resort, compliments of our daughter and her hubby. So that will be nice.

We got some sad news last night. The son of a friend committed suicide yesterday.:_| He hung himself. Our eldest daughter was his step mum. He is the half brother of two of my grand children. In his early 30s. Daughter is very upset as he rang her and adked if he could go stay at her place and she refused. She is no longer with his dad and there has been a lot of things going on with him. Also she has 7 children in her house. I will ring her later today to see how she is. I support her decision not to let him stay. Long story but she did the right thing at the time.

Not sure what we are up to today. I think it may be a warm one. Very still outside and warm. See how the day goes. Will decide as we go.

I really should be out walking but seem to have lost my motivation atm. Hopefully it will return soon. Still losing weight very slowly. Have another 1.7kg till I reach my next goal. Really need to get that will power back as well. Just too many nice things to eat here. lol

I am really sorry to hear about your friends son 😞 and sorry for your loss too.

It's great you are still losing weight good on you. I've kind of gone a bit backwards, by a kilo, not too much damage, but getting back on track. I'm with you on the too many nice things to eat lol and I am not on holiday. I swear the love of food gets me every time LOL

JV thanks for the encouragement. It's good to be getting out of the house, I've spent a lot of time focused on the girls and their special needs but now they are improving and becoming more independent there is time for me to pursue some goals and have some time out.

Besides life is too short not to grab your dreams with both hands and go for it.

Anyway better get going another window to go in today so I need to clear up and put drop sheets over everything.

JVH glad the Irish are still here for Chrissy - I hope they stay too - she needs all the love and support she can get. Sometimes it would be nice to have a 'magic wand' and make these things better.

Well my 'small' barbecue for sunday is now turning into a 'large' barbecue and growing by the day, lol. I am looking forward to catching up with some good friends - going to hit the recipe books and start setting up the deck.

Hey all, well,Had a better night last night after 4 nights with no sleep, now that I have my own room, I can rest better, blood tests still show high infection levels and I am meant to have an ultra sound one day soon, the food here is TERRIBLE so I may get a pizza in tonight..I am going off to have a rest very soon, and maybe munch out on a chocolate...

Hi Bella and yes very hard sometimes to strike a balance thats good for everyone......and yes you are so right one has to grab and run with what one wants to do in ones life:)
