Good morning to all.

Hugs and best wishes to all who need them today.

I think I must have held my back wrong during some of my PT yesterday as I am a tad sore in the lower back and legs. Oh well it will pass. Took some strong painkillers last night, so had a good sleep.

PJ hope you are feeling well.

Not much happening here, just getting things sorted for the trip and doing some housework. Think I will spend the day at home and just go visit one of my daughters later this arvo.

Have a great day everyone.

Kez not long till I hit Townsville again.

Thanks Jen, I canna seem to stop the flood of tears today as I think back over the years and the sorrow I feel for a man who I loves as a father, who recognised and accepted my children as his own grandies when my own Dad would not acknowledge them.
The tears flow as I think how I could have helped him and prevented this step if he had not turned on me, I have tried so hard for the past 4 years and I canna accept that I have not been able to turn it around as I feel that even though they have decided he is high care he still has the capacity to feed himself and shower to a certain extent and I just know from my daughter that he will be in a secure unit where he will have to follow orders and he is going to be so alone and will not understand the abandonment.
Oh boy sorry for the scroller, just need to put it to paper, I guess I am just so hurting and still not sure that this is right and proper cos I canna see him ever coming home, tis so final and sad and he is gonna be so lost without Mum:(

Cheery afternoon everyone!

JVH good to read everything status quo regards your mum - still comfortable etc. I guess that is the best you can hope for atm. Hope the OH is not giving you grief - I truly do!

Dame this was guaranteed to be a difficult week for you, unfortunately - it is clear you love your step-dad, but please remember - nothing is forever - and just because you are making this move (in his very best interests) - if it doesn't meet to your expectations you can always change the situation later. I'm sure it will work out - time will tell. You certainly couldn't try any harder than you have!

Hi kezza - good to read you have a few things on the go - workwise and social - best of luck they bring fabulous opportunities!

Hi scatty great to see you! Don't work too hard and congratulations on the weight loss. A huge effort!

Hello pjbear - glad you had the good sense to call the locum before the infection progressed. Glad it is under control. Please forget the housework until you are up to it - it is not going anywhere, unfortunately.

Hi purple - glad you got the internet sorted and hope you enjoyed lunch with your bestie yesterday!

Hiya libby - think I missed you - hope all is well your end!

Dancing if you are popping in - hope everything is better with your mum. Please do let us know how you are when you get a chance.

Busy couple of days here. Road trip to my sisters (sth. gippsland) with my neice to drop off my mum's old car for her. Got home late last night and dragging a bit today. Gave myself the day off lol!

Daylight savings does have it's good and bad points. For me - there can never be enough sunshine in a day. May the sun shine on everyone on this lovely thread!

Hi Dame and yes the tears do and will flow........its also somehow coming to an acceptance of what type of life your step dadda has in front of him........i do believe once they get to a certain stage that things certainly become a lot easier for them.

Dementia in many ways i think is much much worse than a lot of other health issues........its such an insidious disease which totally makes no sense.

Mothers aggro diminished a great deal after having another little tizzy........called a TIA.........and the docs explained that with the series of tiny strokes that they have eventually one of those TIAs will knock out the agrro department.........is dreadful for all concerned.

There comes a time that unfortunately they simply have to be placed in care.......and one feels very inadequate when one has been a very capable person all ones life.

Im so glad that you have him in blue care........the home we have mother in has been marvellous.......and the committment once again in this last stretch does give me goosebumps nothing is too much trouble:)

Evening Ladies,
Hi Dame hope this finds you feeling better,i certainly think you made the right decision with your step-dad please don't feel guilty.:-x

Jvh hope mum is comfortable and settled after the morphine peg,it must be very draining on you please make sure you get plenty of rest and are eating.Would love to be with you to lend support and to help take care.:-x

Miss your such a sweet person your always doing things for other people i say take the weekend off and relax and recharge.:-)

Had a housefull of kids again today all playing xbox,so i left them all here and took the two little ones to our local bird shop.Nearly walked out with two new baby birds but showed great restraint, one was a baby cockatiel that had to be hand fed cause it's mother died. But i've been there and done that before with a cockatiel only to have him escape his cage and fly away.So now we stick to budgies anyway the kids love all the birds and get very upset when we leave,so have promised a return visit very soon.

hope all have a relaxing weekend and will check in over the weekend.
